Amaino 2017
USA, Chalk Hill
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc
Price category: $$$$
Description
The vineyard is farmed with organic pratices. 16 to 18 months of ageing in french oak barrels sourced from the finest forests of central France, 30% new barrels. The vintage was harvested early to preserve some fresh fruit and it is best served slightly chilled. The nose gathers some forest ground humus and dark red current while preserving a rich color. On the palate, there is a balance between freshness and power. This wine is smooth with light tannins, and a medium-bodied mouthfeel with undertones of vanilla subtly brought by the fine toasted oak.
